On 14 November, the Just Transition Forum “From smart shrinkage to sustainable large-scale industry. Visions for the future of Ida-Viru” will be held at the Narva College.

The registration for three-minute thesis competition ends on 19 September.

Speakers from each field are invited to give engaging presentations in Estonian or English, outlining the importance and results of their research.

New species from proto-Baltic Sea 450 million years ago

Alongside the creation of new technologies, Ida-Virumaa's transition to a sustainable economic model requires diversified skills and support for the development of research-intensive businesses.

On 16 October, the first cooperation seminar of Tallinn University of Technology and the University of Tartu’s consortium of the Just Transition Fund was held at the Virumaa College of the Tallinn University of Technology. The event brought together 22 research teams whose work will help develop technologies and monitor societal transition in the Ida-Viru region over the next six years.

From 18 to 21 July, the 14th International Symposium on the Ordovician System will take place in Tallinn, focusing on the evolution of Earth and life several hundred million years ago and its impact on shaping the modern environment.
